East Africa Tourist Visa: Do not buy separate visas. Apply online for the East Africa Tourist Visa ($100 USD) through the country you enter first (Rwanda). This single visa allows unlimited border crossings between Rwanda, Uganda, and Kenya for 90 days.

Safaris require early 5:00 AM wake-up calls and moving in bumpy dirt roads (affectionately called “African massages”). To keep the trip feeling like a honeymoon rather than an endurance race, invest in a domestic fly-out safari leg from Western Uganda back to Entebbe on Day 7 to avoid tiresome 8-hour drive.

You must present a valid Yellow Fever vaccination certificate at the land border when crossing from Rwanda into Uganda.

Luggage Constraints: If you use domestic bush flights (like the flight to Entebbe), you must pack in soft-sided duffel bags with a strict weight limit (usually 15kg / 33lbs per person). Hard suitcases will not fit in the small plane cargo holds.
